DeSean Jackson was once one of the best football receivers. He participated in three Pro Bowls in his first six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite his declining career, he believes he still has something to give NFL teams. There is a possibility that DeSean Jackson’s career will not end after all, and he will continue to factor in NFL odds.
The Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers are at the top of the experienced NFL speedster’s wish list of teams for which he would like to play. During a live tour for the I AM ATHLETE podcast, Jackson recently stated, “Hell no, I’m not leaving. I’m a free agent.”
Jackson, a three-time Pro Bowler and master of huge plays, was asked by Adam “Pacman” Jones which team he would like to sign with.
The wide receiver, who is 35 years old, listed the Philadelphia Eagles, the Green Bay Packers, and the Baltimore Ravens before listing the Eagles and Packers again. Surprisingly, he also stated his desire to return to the Los Angeles Rams.
Career Path
Jackson stated, “I will prioritize Philadelphia. I’ll say Green Bay.”
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Jackson as the 49th overall choice in the 2008 NFL Draft. Jackson spent the first six years of his 14-year career in Philadelphia. He returned to the Eagles and played for them for two additional seasons. He also played for the Washington Redskins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Los Angeles Rams in 2021.
Jackson has long been admired for his ability to stretch the field. Four times, he has led the league in yards per reception. However, any possible suitor would want to know his standing speed.
With 632 receptions, 11,110 receiving yards, and 58 touchdowns throughout his career, it is not impossible that a team might be interested.
While he did not specify why Philadelphia would be at the top of his list, it is likely due to his familiarity with the city and organization.
Jackson intimated in the spring that he would retire from football. He stated that he wasn’t “very sure” if he would play in 2022. He stated he would only return to the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, or Green Bay Packers.
Jackson is no longer under contract with the NFL, but he has stated he would return if the opportunity presented itself.

When asked by the podcast host where he would most like to play in the NFL, the veteran receiver named the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers as his top two choices.
Jackson responded that he might go to Philadelphia or Green Bay when questioned.
In 2021, Jackson participated in 16 Los Angeles Rams and the Las Vegas Raiders games. Seven games were played for the Rams and nine for the Raiders. Two touchdowns and 444 yards on 20 receptions.
Jackson only appeared in eight games for the Eagles in 2019 and 2020.
Jackson has played three times with the Eagles. The first occurrence lasted from 2008 until 2013, then later, in the 2019 and 2020 NFL seasons.
While it is unclear whether the Eagles’ front management would be interested in a reunion, supporters appear enthusiastic about the prospect.
Jackson could join Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, a potentially superior option.
Rodgers has stated that he dislikes the team’s young receivers, and Jackson might provide Green Bay with a seasoned receiver.
DeSean Jackson is not as good a player as he once was, but he may occasionally make an impact if given a chance.
